The decline in the population of the mauritius endemic Tambalacoque tree (Sapotaceae) has been attributed to many factors including a broken down mutualism with Dodos. However little rigorous scientific data support these factors. We investigated the tree's ecology and identified two overwhelming threats that will enable the species' effective conservation. | |
