The sugarcane variety M 126/63 was released for commercial cultivation in 1983. It has high cane yields and generally low sucrose content which improves late in the season. Thus it has good sugar yields when harvested late in most soil types and is therefore recommedded for this harvest date in B, H, L and P soils. However, due to its susceptibility to yellow spot the cultivation of M 126/63 in B and H soils should be limited to low altitude zones only. | |
