Sampling and analysis of the first (from the top) visible dewlap leaf of primary stalks of sugar cane grown under tow drip-irrigation regimes (potential evaporation, Etc and 0.5 Etc) showed that leaf potassium (K) concentration calculated on the basis of leaf moisture content instead of dry matter did not alleviate the irregular fluctuations of leaf K with sugar cane age. Leaf moisture and K nutrition of sugar cane was in fact not differently affected by the two irrigation regimes. | |
