Disease problems in sugar cane during the past fifteen years are reviewed. Several important diseases have been spreading around the world with movement of cane varieties and new outbreaks of disease which had been under control have been reported. A cause for concern has been the development of new virulent strains of pathogens. New methods of disease diagnosis have been developed. There is need for more precise assessment of losses by various diseases. | |
