Abstract (AB)With the deterioration in the quality of cane sent to sugar factories, the need for a rapid method of estimating extraneous matter in cane is strongly felt. Results obtained at two factories using a method involving about forty cane stalks taken from a cane consignment show that the method gives reasonably accurate results.
