Abstract (AB)	This paper is primarily meant to help growers in the management of the weed control programme. The properties and residual activity os certain herbicides are outlined, and the precautionary measures to be taken for the safe use of these chemicals in different food crops, whether planted in full stand or in sugar cane interrows, are given. Precise recommendations are also formulated for weed control in five important food crops in Mauritius.
