Abstract (AB)A method of analysis for the determination of the characteristics of a system from real time data is described. Examples based on surveys carried out in the Mauritian sugar factories over the last three years are given to illustrate the techniques involved. An application is described where this method has been used to measure the effectiveness of the modifications carried out over two crop seasons at Constance and La Gaieté sugar factory in order to improve the steam output of its two boilers.
