Abstract (AB)The population decline of the Mauritius endemic Dodo-tree (Sapotaceae) has recently been attributed largely to a reduced reproductive output caused by alien species. We adopted an experimental approach to investigate the fate of nursery germinated seedlings re-introduced in the native forest. This allowed the identification of impacts of alien mammals and trends of relevance to both conservation of the species and conservation management of Mauritian upland forest in general.
