Abstract (AB)The two sugarcane varieties, M2370/62 and M657/66 were released in 1982. M2370/62 is a high yielding variety with average to low sucrose content. It is adapted to the super-humid zone and is resistant to yellow-spot. It is recommended for early and middle harvest in B and F soils and for early harvest in H soils. M 657/66 is a rich variety with average cane yields. It is susceptible to smut. It shows wide adaptation and is recommended for harvest in F and H soils throughout the season and middle to late harvest in all other soil types except L1 and L2 soils.
