Abstract (AB)Treatment of sugar factory effluents containing fly-ash requires the installation of additional equipment for separation, dewatering, storing and final disposal of the fly-ash. Using this fly-ash in replacement of bagacillo for the filtration of primary muds offers an elegant way of solving the problem while reducing substantially the cost of installation of the treatment plant.
