Abstract (AB)For land preparation, an equipment for crumbling cane stubbles as well as a cost-effective sequence of implement passes for potato planting need to be found. As for mechanical planting of sugar cane, fungicide treatment of cuttings and their covering with soil need to be improved. Mechanical harvesting trials show that machines do not affect cane yield and ratooning in the humid and super humid zones. Cane losses during mechanical harvesting are still important.
