| Trials conducted in garlic and onions plantations to compare various herbicidal treatments to hand-weeding, have shown that two herbicides, Ronstar and Preforan, when applied in pre-emergence, are safe to these crops. The respective crop yields are superior to that obtained from hand-weeding. Another chemical, Totril, may be used in post-emergence, as from the third-leaf stage of garlic and onions, but is effective on young broad-leaf weeds only. | |
