Abstract (AB)The salient features of the biology of Pulvinaria iceryi (Sign) are described and 25 known host plants are listed. The insect can drastically affect sugarcane by withdrawing phloem sap and possibly by a toxic action that follows feeding. It is considered a dangerous insect wherever it coexists with sugarcane.
