Abstract (AB)All major sugar cane pests are kept under control in Mauritius mainly through the action of natural enemies. Chemicals are hardly, if at all, used. However more and more food crops are being planted in sugar cane interrows, in an attempt to make the country self-sufficient, and insecticide applications are frequent on these crops. Attempts at implementing integrated management of pests of both sugar cane and crops planted in association are described. These include quarantine measures, damage assessments and different control components in pest management.
