Abstract (AB)	An at-line InfraCana automated cane analyser, developed by FOSS Tecator, was installed at the beginning of the 2002 crushing season in the Cane Analysis Laboratory of the Mauritius Sugar Industry Research Institute, for assessment of its suitability to provide fast, simultaneous cane analyses of Brix, pol, fibre, dry matter and commercial cane sugar (CCS) in cane. Preliminary results obtained on some 500 samples show potential of its adoption with considerable reduction in labour costs. The elimination of the use of lead acetate in conventional analyses represents an added advantage for the protection of the environment. [FRENCH: Un analyseur de canne sur site, développé par Foss Tecator, a été installé dans le laboratoire d'analyse de canne du MSIRI au début de la campagne 2002, afin d'évaluer sa performance et sa rapidité d'exécution simultanées de Brix, pol, ligneux, matière sèche et sucre commercial dans la canne. Les résultats préliminaires obtenus sur quelques 500 échantillons démontrent le potentiel de l'appareil et permettent d'apprécier la réduction considérable de main d'oeuvre que représente cette technique. L'élimination de l'acétate de plomb, utilisé dans les analyses conventionnelles, représente un avantage additionnel pour la protection de l'environnement.]
