Abstract (AB)	This paper deals with trials undertaken in Mauritius to eradicate Cynodon dactylon (Bel Ombre biotype). The result suggest that at least two herbicides namely Fusilade Super and Roundup at 2 kg and 4 kg a.e./ha, can achieve this goal. However no less than three successive sprayings are necessary. The time required to achieve complete control as well as the number of sprayings required may be reduced by disc-ploughing the weed infested area prior to herbicide treatment. Moreover herbicide efficacy is increased if the volume of spray is reduced provided that penetration of the canopy is adequate.
