Abstract (AB)	Only the first of these early reports of the Société d'Histoire de l'Ile Maurice has hitherto been printed. The reports constitute an interesting source of information on the beginnings of scientific research in Mauritius, and early experiments in sugar technology are also recorded. A check list of the manuscripts of the Société is given and the objectives of the scientific societies of Mauritius are described.
