Abstract (AB)Five species of Xiphinema, namely X. brevicolle, X. elongatum, X. insigne, X. krugi and X. vulgare, are recorded about sugarcane roots in Mauritius. The distribution of these species in different soil types and climatic regions is described. The commonest species are X. elongatum in the lower elevations and X. krugi in the higher elevations.
