Abstract (AB)The characteristic bacterium associated with RSD was detected by phase contrast microscopy in three out of five varieties showing nodal discolouration in quarantine. The presence of the bacterial cells was confirmed by electron microscopic examination. Photomicrographs of the bacterium are given to show its characteristic morphology.
