| The variety R 570 was released in 1985. It has very high cane and sugar yields. Its sucrose content is low early in the season, but improves at middle and late harvests. It is adapted to F, H, L and P soils for middle and late harvests. However, it could be harvested earlier in P soils, whereas it is adapted to B soils for late harvests only. R 570 is slightly susceptible to gumming and smut but susceptible to yellow spot. It should not be planted at high altitude, and in high rainfall areas because of its susceptibility to yellow spot. | |
