| A new continuous A centrifugal (STG/FCB 110HR) installed at Deep River Beau Champ Sugar Estate near the end of the 1995 crushing season performed well with increased curing capacity and energy economy compared to a batch machine. The trial period was too short to improve the quality of the sugar produced which had a high moisture content. The operation of the continuous centrifugal and the dryer was optimized in 1996 so as to feed the dryer with sugar at a temperature higher than 60 degree centigrade to ensure evaporative cooling in the dryer. Raw sugar with an acceptable dilution indicator was produced. | |
