Abstract (AB)Local strains of Rhizobium of groundnut are present in Mauritian soils. Observations at Medine, La Laura and Olivia showed the unfavourable effect of soil acidity on nodulation, and indicated a pH level (5.0) under which nodulation is severely reduced. Results of trials at Reduit showed that inoculation of Dwarf beans with foreign Rhizobium strain greatly increases yields.
