Abstract (AB)	Local strains of Rhizobium of groundnut are present in Mauritian soils. Observations at Medine, La Laura and Olivia showed the unfavourable effect of soil acidity on nodulation, and indicated a pH level (5.0) under which nodulation is severely reduced. Results of trials at Reduit showed that inoculation of Dwarf beans with foreign Rhizobium strain greatly increases yields.
