Abstract (AB)	A noncapsid protein (NCP) associated with 5 virus diseases of maize in Mauritius had an apparent mol. wt. of 18 000 daltons compared with 32 500 daltons for virus associated with maize chlorotic stripe and maize stripe. Some evidence was obtained that NCP is also present in healthy maize plants.
