Abstract (AB)Previous use of herbicides to control invasive weeds in the Mondrain Nature Reserve, Round Island and Ile aux Aigrettes are reviewed. Different methods have proved useful for different plants and different types of habitat. In many cases an application of an appropriate chemical on a cut stump has proved effective for killing woody weeds. Sprays have been used against herbaceous weeds but a great deal of care needs to be taken specially in mixed native/alien stands and on slopes.
