Abstract (AB)Much of the remaining Mauritian forests occur in our little studied mountainous areas. We used the once thought extinct Trochetia parviflora to investigate the major threats to survival of native species in such habitats. An alien weed-driven displacement of the species and its associated community towards steeper slopes is found.
